About me
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling to cope with life’s challenges? Perhaps you are dealing with low mood, bereavement, illness, relationship difficulties, anxiety, or a sense that something in your life needs to change.
Many people come to counselling feeling alone with their problems or unsure how to move forward. Therapy can offer a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and begin to make sense of what you are going through.
I offer trauma-informed counselling in Newport on the Isle of Wight and online. My approach is warm, thoughtful and non-judgemental, supporting you to explore difficult emotions, develop greater self-understanding and find new ways of responding to life’s challenges.
My work is rooted in Psychosynthesis, a holistic form of psychotherapy that recognises all aspects of being human – our thoughts, emotions, and deeper sense of meaning and purpose.
I often work with people who:
- feel overwhelmed, anxious or emotionally stuck
- are going through a significant life transition
- are processing grief, loss or illness
- struggle with self-worth, low self esteem or feeling “not good enough”
- are exploring deeper questions about meaning, identity or purpose
Together we can explore whatever you are bringing to therapy at a pace that feels right for you, helping you reconnect with your inner resources and move towards a greater sense of authenticity, clarity and emotional ease.
If you’re wondering whether counselling might help, you’re very welcome to get in touch. I’m happy to answer questions or arrange an initial session so we can see whether working together feels right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling from the Institute of Psychosynthesis in London (equivalent level 7) and a Postgraduate Diploma (PGdip) in Psychosynthesis Psychology from Middlesex University.
I have completed continuous professional development in Trauma Informed Practice, Eating Disorders and OCD.
I have experience as a bereavement support volunteer at Mountbatten Hospice, Isle of Wight.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework, which includes being in regular supervision.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
