About me

Most of the time we can manage the challenges we face, but sometimes things feel too heavy to carry alone. I’m Marsha, an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist offering a warm, non-judgemental space where you can feel safe, supported, and genuinely listened to.

My approach is integrative, weaving together psychodynamic and humanistic psychotherapy. This means we can explore how early experiences and unconscious patterns may still shape your present life, while also supporting growth, agency and the possibility of living more freely and authentically.

Alongside talking therapy, I offer optional creative approaches using art materials, clay, sand tray, movement, music and metaphor. You don’t need to be “artistic”, the work isn’t about skill, but about expression. The arts can gently help make inner experiences visible, especially when words feel limited.

My work is also informed by interpersonal neurobiology, supporting both emotional and embodied processes. I aim to offer an attuned therapeutic relationship where your nervous system can find more balance, connection, and possibility over time.

I work from a calm garden cabin space in Chelmsford, Essex. I offer a free 15-minute initial phone call so we can explore what brings you to therapy and whether my approach feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified integrative arts psychotherapist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT).

I completed my professional training in integrative arts psychotherapy at postgraduate level and have undertaken extensive supervised clinical practice. My training includes trauma-informed, attachment-based, relational, and creative approaches, alongside ongoing professional development in line with ethical and regulatory requirements.

I am committed to reflective practice, regular supervision, and continuing professional development to ensure that my work remains safe, thoughtful, and responsive.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
