About me

Hi, I’m Markus, a Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I work with people facing a wide range of life challenges, offering a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can slow down, feel heard, and make sense of what’s happening for you.

I have a particular interest in supporting people through life transitions, including changes in health, diagnosis, and ongoing illness, as well as shifts in identity, relationships, and work. These experiences can feel unsettling and uncertain, but also open the possibility for reflection and change.

I provide one-to-one sessions in person or online, making therapy accessible in a way that suits you. Together, we can explore your experiences, build resilience, and find a way forward that feels more grounded and authentic.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and work within their Ethical Framework. I also engage in regular supervision and professional development to ensure safe and effective practice, so you can feel confident your wellbeing is at the centre of our work.

I offer both short- and long-term therapy and work integratively, drawing on Clarkson’s model, while tailoring my approach to you as an individual — your story, your challenges, and your hopes.

At the heart of my practice is the belief that change becomes possible through self-understanding, connection, and the space to process difficult experiences at your own pace.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation so we can talk through what you’re looking for and see if I’m the right person to support you. The connection you have with your therapist is one of the most important parts of therapy, so this first conversation is a chance to get a feel for how I work, ask any questions, and decide if it feels like a good fit before starting sessions.
