About me

Welcome. I'm Marianne, a qualified integrative therapist offering individual counselling to adults. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply need a safe space to talk, I’m here to offer you support.

How Counselling Can Help: Life can be challenging, and sometimes we all need a little extra support. Having a confidential space to explore your feelings can lead to developing greater self-awareness, resilience, and self-confidence in navigating life's challenges.

Therapeutic Services: I work individually with adults (18+), offering both short-term therapy (8-16 sessions) and long-term therapy, available in-person and online.

My Approach: At the heart of my approach is empathy and compassion. I believe the client-therapist relationship plays a vital role in the therapeutic process, so my priority is to develop a relationship with you in which you feel heard, feel seen, and feel safe. I offer a space where, together, we can explore the issues that are troubling you. As an integrative therapist, my approach draws from multiple therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic, person-centred, and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), allowing me to tailor my approach to suit your individual needs.

My Experience: Following a career working in addiction treatment and eating disorder treatment at a rehabilitation hospital, I retrained as an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist. I have supported clients with a wide range of challenges including anxiety, bereavement, low self-esteem, trauma, and relationship issues.

What To Expect: I offer a free introductory session online, where you can tell me a little bit about what brings you to therapy, and decide whether you feel we would be a good fit to work together. This call typically lasts 20 minutes. If you then decide you would like to begin therapy, we can schedule our first session. Sessions are 50 minutes and take place on a weekly basis.

If you have any questions or if you would like to book an initial session, please feel free to contact me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
