About me

Life can be complicated, we all have ups and downs but sometimes the hard moments become a struggle and difficult to ignore. Are you feeling anxious or overwhelmed by difficult emotions, past experiences, relationship issues or life transitions? Counselling can help. I can provide a calm and non-judgemental space to explore and make sense of your thoughts and feelings.

How I work

As a person-centred counsellor, I provide a supportive and empathic space for you to feel comfortable to express yourself and gain a deeper self-awareness. Successful therapy is built on a strong collaborative relationship.  Together, we can identify challenges, gain insight and work towards an improved sense of well-being.

There are times in our lives when we may feel stuck - you may be experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma or other challenges - I will work with you to identify your goals. Together, we can identify your goals and help you gain some understanding, acceptance and perspective to help you move forwards.

I have a special interest in working with women who are supporting both their children and their parents - feeling the pressures of spinning multiple plates while grasping at not losing their own identity.  I also support young adults learning to navigate life after leaving home, whether to go away to study or beginning an independent life working.

I have experience with many issues and struggles - however, we don't need to be in distress to benefit from counselling. You may "not feel yourself", or need someone independent to really listen to what's going on for you right now.

I also work with the NHS Youth Counselling Service, for young people aged 12-24 who are struggling with issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety, ADHD, depression, identity, self-harm and suicidal ideation.

I welcome you to get in touch and have a chat.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
