About me

Hi!

Life can be complicated, we all have ups and downs but sometimes the hard moments become a struggle and difficult to ignore.  You may be feeling overwhelmed by difficult emotions, past experiences, relationship issues or life transitions - counselling can help. I can provide a safe and non-judgemental space to explore and make sense of your thoughts and feelings without any fear of judgement.

How I work

As a person-centred counsellor, I provide a supportive and empathic environment for you to express yourself freely and gain a deeper self-awareness.  Therapy is a collaborative relationship, I work alongside my clients so that, together, we can identify challenges, gain insight and work towards an improved sense of well-being.

My approach is grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life and that you have the power to make meaningful changes that align with your values and aspirations.

There are times in our lives when we may feel stuck - you may be experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma or other life or relationship challenges, I will work with you to identify your goals. Together we can work towards reaching some understanding, acceptance and perspective to help you move forwards.

I work with adults and young people, offering short-term work for those wanting  to focus on a particular area or issue and also long-term work where we can develop a more in-depth exploration into specific areas of your life or patterns.

I have experience working with many issues and struggles - however, we don't need to be in distress to benefit from counselling.  You may "not feel yourself", be unsure of your identity or need someone independent to really listen to what's going on for you right now.

I also work with the NHS Youth Counselling Service, for young people aged 12-24 who are struggling with issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety, ADHD, depression, identity, self-harm and suicidal ideation.

I welcome you to get in touch and have a chat.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
