About me

Life is full of challenges, and maybe you are going through a particularly difficult time and you're not sure where to turn.  I am here to provide a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions and consider any changes you might like to make in your life to improve your wellbeing.

Counselling can feel daunting and you may not know what to expect.

So here is a little info on what to expect - your first session with me is designed for you to talk about what brings you to counselling, and what you would like to gain from our time together. I will ask questions to gather information, and you can also ask me questions about the process and any concerns you may have.

After this session you may wish to take some time to think about whether this is right for you, and to decide if you would like to work with me. You are under no obligation to book additional sessions at any time.  So if you feel that I may be able to help you please get in touch, I would love to hear from you.

I work with adults aged 18+ presenting with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, low self esteem, abuse (physical, sexual, emotional and bullying), bereavement and loss, relationship issues, personal and family issues, work related issues and reduced confidence.  I also offer relationship therapy.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified and BACP Accredited Counsellor.  I qualified in 2007 as a Person Centred Counsellor and have worked in various organisations offering support and counselling, as well as some group work.  I have also completed Relational Therapy training with Relate and offer relationship counselling.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
