Art psychotherapist

About me

Hi, I'm Maria.

Driven by a genuine desire to help and work alongside people, I offer art  psychotherapy and counselling services in Brighton and Hove, and bring wide experience supporting children and adults through life's hardest experiences. My practice is trauma-informed and person-centred, grounded in the belief that healing happens in relationship — in feeling truly seen and accepted.

I offer a calm, non-judgemental space where children, teenagers, and adults can explore their inner world. We can play games, explore your interests, dance, make music or simply talk. You don't have to engage with art if it is not for you.

Whether you are navigating difficult life experiences, feeling anxious, sad, overwhelmed with persistent thoughts or want to get to know yourself deeper. We can work together to help you feel grounded again.

A key part of my work is recognising and validating your unique experiences, helping you to strengthen your sense of identity, supporting your wellbeing and growth.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm a qualified Art Therapist (MA, HCPC, and BAAT registered) and my background includes roles in educational settings, mental health charities, and community art programmes, where empathy and creativity are central to promoting wellbeing and personal transformation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
