About me

As a humanistic counsellor and psychotherapist, I bring a unique approach to online and telephone therapy sessions for adults. A non-judgmental and unconditionally supportive approach facilitates developing a safe and therapeutic working relationship from which we can explore your relationships and behaviour patterns within relationships to understand and make meaning of what is not making sense for you today.

I offer short-term, long-term and open-ended sessions in agreement after our initial discussion and assessment.

I have extensive experience of working with trauma, anxiety, and vulnerability. I have worked in the police service for over thirty years, understanding the specific pressures this places on officers and staff, their relationships, and mental health.

I worked with the Macmillan Cancer Charity for five years, focusing on processing shock, fear, anger, and feelings of loss of control during the treatment phase.

Post-treatment, the focus was on making meaning and processing the experience, including coping techniques. There was a need for a private and confidential space in support of an opportunity to voice and process feelings that could not be shared with friends and family.

Training, qualifications & experience

MSc degree in Humanistic Psychotherapy. Middlesex University.

Clinical Diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling. The Metanoia Institute

I volunteered as a Defuser for five years, supporting frontline police officers and staff after attendance at traumatic incidents, which included violence and loss of life.

I qualified as a Life Coach in 2015.

I volunteered as a Mentor in the police service, working with officers and staff of all ranks to support their career progression.

I have extensive experience working with people at vulnerable and fragile times in their lives when their usual coping methods are unable to provide them with support and reassurance.
