Welcome to my profile,
My name is Marek, and I have been supporting clients therapeutically since 2011 as an Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist. Presently, I work with adult clients at the Richmond Borough Mind, and privately at different locations in London. I am providing face to face, online and outdoor therapy, which is something of an individual preference. Clients often ask me about how therapy works and what can be done to improve the quality of their well-being and simply feel happier as to being able to manage things that seem too much to handle. The answers do differ, as we all have gone through some sort of difficulties in the past that somehow keep popping up 'now' and cause all kinds of confusion.
This confusion might be difficult to pinpoint at first and understand the roots of what is happening to you. For example, when anxiety takes charge, and you feel powerless in everyday situations. Due to the vast amount of presenting difficulties, very often there happens to be more than one you might be struggling with. Therefore, it is important to sit down with a therapist and talk things through in order to focus on something you would like to work on. Once we have established your needs, then we together can work out a plan on how to approach things in therapy that can take as much time as you need.
How do I work?
Therapeutic work with clients varies. It means, that one approach may not be suitable for everyone as peoples' needs differ from one another and therefore one approach may help some clients more and others less. This is to say that I tailor my approach to your individual needs you would like to work on from the beginning of therapy. Working integratively, I am looking at the past experiences as any significant ones throughout your life that somehow stayed with you in the "here and now", and may cause all sorts of difficulties you may often find impossible to manage on daily basis whether in a professional or personal life.
I also offer CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) which I use with clients who would like to understand their behaviours and negative thoughts that are holding them back from moving on in their lives. Working collaboratively you will have an opportunity to explore different areas of your life you have been finding difficult to manage that perhaps might be still affecting you now and you are finding it hard to voice yourself or be able to do things because you can not see the way out. One of the obstacles are "Negative thoughts" we would be able to look at more closely to get a better sense of what might be happening for you in different situations as to what may be holding you back when you need to express your needs or simply feel good about yourself in whatever situation you may find yourself in.
Working therapeutically with clients I draw from different approaches that help me to support my clients on their life journeys with their innermost and challenging parts of their lives. These differentiate from person to person and include a range of presenting challenges we meet with on daily basis such as anxiety, depression, sexuality, self-esteem, relationship problems, couples difficulties, open relationships, LGBT, suicidal ideations, and many more. They may appear very often insurmountable at times, though with a support of a Counsellor/Psychotherapist who allows you to be yourself and bring anything you would like to talk about and work on in therapy, at the same time offers new possibilities towards inner growth in you as a person.
