About me

Welcome to my profile,

My name is Marek and I am an Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist, registered and accredited member of BACP.  I do understand, that finding a therapist can be a challenge per se, though it does not have to be.  If you are reading my profile and think to yourself, ''perhaps I could reach out'', then please feel free to get in touch.

Therapy is your time, where you can bring anything without being worried, that you might be judged.  I offer a safe and confidential space for you to allow yourself to be and grow to be yourself without any obstacles.  And if we find some on our way, then we will work through them together.

I stared my therapeutic work with adult individuals in 2011-13 at the Centre for Better Health, children 2013- Place2be, followed by Richmond Borough Mind in 2015-21.  Presently, I work in private practice since 2017.  My therapeutic work is different from other practitioners as each therapist has got their unique ways of working.

Therapeutic work varies, which means, that one theoretical approach may not be sufficient for everyone.  We all have different wants/ needs and therefore one approach may help some individuals more than others.  I tailor my therapeutic approach of working with your individual needs.  This includes aspects such as empathy, insight and an individual choice for you to bring in your innermost life experiences for us to learn from and find new ways of managing your difficulties.

Some of these experiences might still be having negative impact on you or affect you in ways,  that you can not put into words.  This is very important part of the therapeutic work I do with clients.  Especially, when you experienced trauma but can not remember anything or understand some of the behaviour that is worrying you.  You are always in charge of the therapy process and I am here to support you in allowing you to go as deep as you are prepared to go with your choice.

If you have any questions or would like to schedule an Initial 15min Consultation via Skype/ Zoom or in person, please do not hesitate to contact me.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
