About me
Clients often tell me they value having a space where they can speak openly without fear of judgment. My approach is warm, grounded and down-to-earth. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change, and I aim to create an environment where you feel safe, supported and accepted just as you are. Before training as a counsellor, I worked for many years as a registered nurse, supporting people through some of life's most challenging experiences
I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, particularly if this is your first experience of therapy. You may be struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of the way forward. Whatever brings you to counselling, we can explore it together at a pace that feels right for you.
There's no "right" way to be in therapy. Some people arrive knowing exactly what they want to work on, while others simply know that something doesn't feel right. Wherever you are starting from, you will be met with warmth, curiosity and respect.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I have a particular interest in helping clients build self-esteem, develop healthier relationships, increase assertiveness, and move away from patterns of people-pleasing that can leave them feeling overwhelmed, resentful or disconnected from their own needs.
I also have experience supporting adults with:
• Grief and loss (including pet loss)
• Low mood or depression
• Trauma or painful past experiences
• Low self-esteem, self-criticism, or a desire for greater self-confidence
• Life transitions, identity changes, or feeling lost
• Relationship or family difficulties
• Fears and phobias
People come to counselling for many different reasons. Some arrive with a specific issue they would like to work through, while others are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and the patterns that may be affecting their well-being.
Together, we can explore what is happening for you, gain insight into the challenges you are facing, and work towards greater confidence, healthier relationships and meaningful, lasting change.

Further information
believe that counselling is not only about coping with difficulties but also about developing a deeper understanding of yourself. Taking time to reflect on your experiences, relationships and emotional world can help bring greater clarity, self-awareness and choice.
Sometimes therapy focuses on a specific issue or life event. At other times, it can be a space to explore recurring patterns, longstanding struggles, or a feeling that life is not quite how you want it to be. Whatever brings you to counselling, the work is shaped by your individual needs and goals.
My aim is to support you in making sense of your experiences and moving towards a life that feels more manageable, meaningful and fulfilling.
