About me

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.

Often this can be the first step towards making that move in seeking help and support - talking and being listened to by a professional counsellor and psychotherapist. I know because that was my experience when I too took that first step and reached out for help. This step can often be filled with a mix of feelings and emotions, and apprehension too, when stepping into the unknown. It can also be a new opportunity to begin seeing things a little clearer leading to a new sense of healing, personal freedom and discovery of Self.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I work with clients across a wide range of issues, however my speciality is in working with people who have experienced Loss - direct/clear loss through the death of a loved one, and /or other loss(es) which may be unclear, unspoken about, even difficult to identify, referred to as Ambiguous Loss. This may include:

  • Loss and bereavement  through the death of a love
  • Societal, Social or Situational Loss
  • Loss of Health, Relationships -love, separation/divorce; Family alienation; Parenting
  • Loss of a Job /Career
  • Loss of Self, of Identity ; of Direction in life
  • Accumulative loss, Complex loss through trauma

Often one loss, or another loss can easily trigger the unspoken or earlier loss(es) in life. This may contribute to feelings of confusion, despair, hopelessness, overwhelm and struggling to cope to see beyond the pain and grief of being frozen or stuck.

If this sounds familiar to you, if you are struggling to cope, struggling to find your sense of Self, and /or the journey or grieving is too much - please contact me via my email or mobile number.
