About me

Hi, I'm Lynsey and as an experienced, fully qualified Level 6 practitioner I work empathically with all my clients no matter what their age and provide a safe, supportive, confidential space for us to work through your worries and concerns to help you live your life the way you want to.

My Experience

I have vast experience in working with children from ages 9+ and adults of all backgrounds. I have both working experience and personal experience of helping people who are living with a diagnosis  and/or disability or watching a loved one go through this and the difficulties this brings.

I can help you with many mental health issues including

  • Anxiety,
  • Depression,
  • Grief,
  • PTSD,
  • Childhood trauma,
  • Abuse (including sexual),
  • Domestic violence,
  • Anger,
  • Neurodiversity,
  • Stress,
  • Relationship worries,
  • Carer concerns and responsibilities,
  • Overcoming diagnosis, and many more.
  • Feelings of sadness, being lost and uncertainties in life

I have vast experience with children and adults covering the above points, plus much more.

About Me

I have lived experience of being a carer/parent to Children who have neurodivergence and severe disabilities which requires them to need care 24/7 for the rest of their life. I believe that even though people can be empathic of this situation, it takes lived experience to truly recognise the constant fight for your loved ones to have rights, care etc to truly understand.

My Work

I have a BA (Hons) degree in Counselling and Therapeutic Practice (Level 6). I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and who can walk alongside and help you to recover from many concerns, problems and traumas.

Even though I am an integrative therapist who is trained in different psychological approaches, I find the best approach is to work directly with you to see what your goals are and how different approaches may help different areas of difficulties.

I currently work online so can offer flexible sessions to fit in with your life, and offer both short term and long-term therapy. .

I am fully insured and have an enhanced DBS that can be accessed on request.

What Next?

Finding the right counsellor for you is so important, so that you are able to speak openly and be accepted for yourself. This is why I offer a free 30 minute telephone consultation to get to know each other more, where we can see how we will work together and if I am the right counsellor for you.

If you would like to call or email me we can arrange a meeting ASAP.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
