About me
Hello and a warm welcome to my profile. I’m Lynsey, a qualified counsellor & psychotherapist.
I offer face-to-face therapy sessions focused on your unique requirements - a confidential space just for you.
My approach during any session is to listen to you with empathy and non-judgment, creating a compassionate space where you can begin to make sense of your experiences and feelings.
If you find it helpful, we can also reflect on your relationship patterns both with others and within yourself. Perhaps there is a specific relationship that is not working well, or a past relationship that still troubles you? Or even a repeated way of thinking about yourself? Looking back can sometimes feel daunting, but often our earliest relationships can uncover blind spots and coping mechanisms that are still impacting us today.
The world is a complicated place but talking to someone can help you get the support you need.
You don't need to struggle alone.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
You can email, text or fill in the contact form here to begin an initial enquiry.
From there, I offer a free 20-minute Zoom call to explore what counselling with me might look like and to give you a taste of how we might work together.
If it feels good to you, I email out some paperwork that explains some more about how we can work together and there is a form for you to fill in.
First sessions often involve getting to know each other a little more, and about why you are here and what you would like. Some people only want one session whereas others want to explore over months & years.

Further information
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic models depending on what feels most beneficial to you. These models include; person-centred, psychodynamic and attachment. I am drawn towards approaches where the focus is on exploring your behaviours in response to daily life, and the underlying causes of these behaviours. Often once we give ourselves the space to explore our inner world we are able to face the same challenges with renewed strength.
Bring your whole self.
Your individuality is openly welcomed here. If it feels beneficial, we can explore how your personal experiences intersect with your identity, including gender, sexual diversity, social background, religion, ethnicity, neurodiversity, health, heritage, education and political beliefs. In other words, there’s nothing you cannot bring.
