About me

Hi, I'm a qualified counsellor (BACP), with specialised training in bereavement, as well as experience working with individuals affected by domestic and sexual abuse. We all find ourselves at some point in our lives feeling overwhelmed, and unable to cope. This could be something from our past or something in the here and now.

Life has its ups and downs-with challenges to test us on the way.  Sometimes, those challenges become too overwhelming, leaving us feeling lost, stuck, angry or frustrated. You may find yourself wondering, "What is wrong with me, why can't I figure this out"? "Why does it feel so hard to move forward"?

Struggling in your relationships-partner/family/friends:- Feeling dissatisfied, disconnected, or misunderstood. Is it hard to communicate how you feel, leaving you stuck in a cycle of frustration and anger? Maybe you're unsure how to fix things but know something needs to change.

When we're not feeling great about ourselves, it's easy for feelings of anxiety, depression, or self-doubt to take hold. The voice in your head goes into overdrive. The voice is often critical, giving us messages like "you're not good enough" or "you're stupid".   It can be relentless, undermining your confidence and shape how you see yourself and the world around you. It's exhausting, and you don't have to face it alone-change is possible and support is available to help you reconnect with yourself and others.

Life changes can be incredibly challenging. Whether you're adjusting to the arrival of a new baby, navigating the pain of bereavement, facing retirement, going through a divorce or experiencing the transition of children leaving home. It's natural to struggle with these shifts-they can bring up complex emotions and makes us question our sense of self.

I work with individuals from all works of life with a diverse range of difficulties:- depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, rape, domestic violence, bereavement along with many other issues that have impacted their lives.

Whatever your struggles, no matter how big or small you think they are I am here to support and guide you through the confusion that you might be experiencing.

In our confidential sessions, we'll work through your thoughts and feeling, helping you untangle past experiences and navigate current challenges. With practical strategies and supportive guidance, you'll gain clarity, resilience and the tools needed to feel more in control of your life.

We can focus on goals if that is how you like to work or we can explore whatever might be impacting your life, and together, work towards a happier version of you.

I understand how hard it is to ask for help, and even harder to decide what counsellor is right for you. To see if I am right for you I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation this will give you a chance to get a feel for me and to ask any questions you may have about the service I offer.

I offer sessions either face to face, zoom or telephone which ever way you feel would work best for you.

If you’re ready to start on this journey, I’m here to help you along the way.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
