About me

Are you feeling stuck? struggling to cope with overwhelming feelings or a current life event? then let me help you process this difficult time.

I have many years experience in working with people to overcome a range of difficulties, including: low self-esteem, intrusive thought patterns, addiction, relationship breakdowns, grief, anxiety and depression.

After many years of working in the social care & substance misuse field I felt inspired to train as a therapist, I wanted to help people gain a deeper understanding of their troubles and support people to feel free from the  emotional burdens they have been carrying.

Back to you...

Seeking Therapy? Let's Navigate Your Journey Together.

Selecting a therapist can feel like a daunting task!  You may wonder, "How do I choose the right therapist for me?"  "What do I need from therapy"? These are important questions, and it's perfectly normal to seek some clarity.

Getting started

I believe the key to a successful therapy  is compatibility. To ensure we're well-matched, I like to start with a free introductory telephone conversation. This allows us to break the ice and get to know each other a little. If you feel you would like to move forward, we can arrange an initial session.

Initial Session

During our first session, we can identify and navigate your needs for therapy, discuss a focus for "the work"  and talk about your aspirations,  tailoring an approach to best meet your needs,  and of course answer any questions you may have. I am committed to fostering a safe and relaxed environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

Therapeutic Approaches

Short-Term Therapy:

Are current challenges overwhelming you? Do you seek a confidential space to process your thoughts and feelings, or perhaps a compassionate ear to truly hear you? A place to rant even!  Short-term therapy can offer immediate support through times of crises, work-related stress, social anxiety and low mood or depression. integrating Mindful techniques in my work can be particularly effective in developing coping strategies during trying times.

Long-Term Therapy:

If you're ready to address longstanding issues that influence your present life, long-term therapy can be beneficial. This approach allows you to take your time and  explore your inner world  at your own pace, addressing deeper rooted life experiences such as: childhood trauma, familial relationships, loss, and grief.

Unsure About What You Need?

That’s completely fine too. we can take our time and figure this out together..

A Bit About My Practice

I trained using an integrative model of therapy, applying several theoretical models that work by looking at how past experiences are effecting the way you view the world today. My approach to therapy is infused with humour, integrity, curiosity, and honesty,  My aim is to help you understand yourself  and alleviate any emotional turmoil you're experiencing. Starting the therapy journey may feel challenging, but the rewards can be truly transformative.

Currently, I offer sessions both online via Zoom and in-person from my home in Islington,  located just a 6-minute walk from Caledonian Road tube station on the Piccadilly line

Your path to a happier life begins with a single step – let's take that step together.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
