About me

I’m a therapist working exclusively with young men aged 15-25.

I believe there is real value in having a space where young men can talk openly, think things through and better understand themselves. The years between 15 and 25 can involve a lot of change. Identity, relationships, confidence, family, education, work and figuring out what you want from life can all bring their own challenges.

My work is focused on helping young men understand themselves better, make sense of what they're experiencing and develop a stronger sense of who they are and where they want to go. This might involve exploring anxiety and overthinking, self-esteem and confidence, shame and self-criticism, identity, relationships or simply feeling unsure about what comes next.

Rather than trying to push difficult thoughts and emotions aside, therapy can help you understand them and how they influence the way you think, feel and act. From there, we can look at what matters to you, what you want from your life and what might help you move towards it.

I have extensive experience working with young men around mental health, identity, relationships, confidence, emotional wellbeing and masculinity. I’m also the founder of The Purpose Project, an organisation dedicated to supporting young men with their mental health, personal development, relationships and sense of purpose.

Alongside this, I have experience working within youth justice, supporting young people through complex circumstances and challenging periods in their lives. This has given me a strong understanding of the different pressures young men can face and the importance of building a genuine therapeutic relationship.

My approach is person-centred, but I keep therapy honest, grounded and relevant to your life. You don't need to arrive with everything figured out or even know exactly what you want to talk about. Therapy can simply be a place to step back, make sense of what's going on, understand yourself better and work out what comes next.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Person-Centred Therapist with extensive experience working with young men and a particular focus on men’s mental health.

My approach is male-centred, meaning I consider the experiences, pressures and expectations that can come with being a young man today. I work in a way that is open, honest and grounded, creating a space where you can speak freely without feeling like you have to put on an act.

I don't see myself as someone who has all the answers or who is there to tell you what you should do. My role is to work alongside you, helping you understand yourself better, make sense of what you're experiencing and explore what you want from your life.

Alongside my private therapeutic work, I am the founder of The Purpose Project, where I have extensive experience delivering therapeutic and personal development work specifically with young men. I have also worked within youth justice, supporting young people through a range of complex circumstances.

My experience working with men has shaped the way I approach therapy and gives me a strong understanding of the challenges, expectations and experiences that can influence men's mental health.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
