About me

Hi, I’m Lucy, a qualified psychodynamic counsellor offering a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore your experiences at your own pace. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, low self-worth or are feeling stuck- therapy offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and explore these thoughts, feelings and experiences. Whether you’re coming with a specific concern or simply a sense that something isn’t quite right, you are welcome.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BACP registered psychodynamic psychotherapeutic counsellor with a background in psychology, education and the charity sector. I adhere to the BACP code of ethics and engage in regular supervision to ensure that my work provides the highest quality of care.

I have worked with a wide range of clients from diverse backgrounds and am committed to inclusivity in my practice. I have experience supporting clients with a broad spectrum of issues, including those related to anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, stress, sexuality, relationship challenges, family dynamics, work concerns, panic attacks and identity exploration. I am a neurodiversity-affirming therapist and have worked supporting clients who have ADHD and those who want to explore whether they may be neurodivergent.

I also offer a safe and supportive space to explore the complexities of pregnancy and motherhood and welcome those who are navigating the challenges of being a mother.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

How I work:

I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy, a therapeutic approach that explores how our past experiences and early relationships influence our current emotions, behaviours, and relationships. These formative dynamics often shape the way we see ourselves and others, and how we respond to stress, uncertainty, and responsibility - often without our conscious awareness. Through increasing insight into these unconscious patterns, we create space for personal growth, greater self-acceptance, and a more compassionate inner voice.

Through our work together I hope to offer new perspectives, help build resilience, increase curiosity and make lasting change possible.

I work with clients both in person and online, providing short term and open-ended therapy. I offer a free initial phone call where we can talk about what has brought you to therapy and decide if I am the right therapist for you. Please get in touch below to find out more or to arrange an initial phone call.
