About me

Hi, I’m Louise, a fully qualified integrative counsellor based in Bangor. I offer a calm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever may be troubling you.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and reaching out for support is not always easy. I work alongside clients experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, loss, addiction, and life changes, helping them to better understand their thoughts and emotions and move towards positive change. I also have a particular interest in supporting older adults and understand some of the unique challenges that can come with later life, including loneliness, loss, changing relationships, health concerns, and adjusting to new stages of life.

My approach is warm, honest, and client-led. I believe counselling should move at a pace that feels comfortable and safe for you, allowing a trusting therapeutic relationship to develop naturally. Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally exhausted, and together we work towards greater clarity, self-awareness, and resilience.

Alongside my experience supporting clients affected by addiction, I understand how difficult it can be to take the first step towards change. Whether you are struggling personally or have been impacted by someone else’s addiction, I offer a compassionate space where you can feel heard and supported without judgement.

I offer one-to-one counselling sessions in person, online, and by telephone for clients aged 12 and over. My aim is to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered as you navigate the challenges you may be facing.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
