About me
Hello and welcome. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I am a qualified and experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I am qualified to work with children (11+), young people and adults. I have a Master’s Degree in Counselling Children and Young People, a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People, an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a BA (Hon) in Secondary Education and Drama. I have worked with a variety of issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, abuse, sexuality, gender identity and eating disorders. However, I have a special interest and extensive experience of working with self-harm, suicide and substance misuse.
I use an integrative approach to client centred work, ensuring that the client is at the centre of the sessions. Drawing on a variety of therapeutic approaches that aim to suit the needs of the individual, I aim to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment to assist others in exploring their issues. I am an empathetic person who feels passionate about providing the time and space needed for individuals to feel heard, valued and understood.
My experience of working as a therapist has been within a variety of settings over the past 14 years. This has included work within the education sector; mainstream, PRU and special schools. I have also worked within the 3rd sector which includes organisations such as mental health charities, substance misuse organisations and self-harm services. Previous work includes counselling for the HM Prison Service and project managing psycho-social intervention programmes for young people and adults who misuse substances.
I continue to work within education, 3rd sector services and private practice where I see clients for a variety of presenting issues, offering both long and short term therapy. I offer both face to face and online sessions (via Zoom). I am a Registered member of the BACP (MBACP) and adhere to their code of ethics.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
