About me
Thank you for visiting my page.
How rare is it to have the time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings around issues in your life with someone who you can trust. With someone who really cares, who really hears you but who does not judge or criticise?
Beginning therapy can be a very difficult step to take but can be one of the most rewarding choices you will ever make. Having someone to talk to who will really listen is a very positive experience.
You deserve that time, purely for you.
Many of my clients have experienced childhood trauma/abuse, have struggled with anxiety /depression or had relationship issues. Whatever your issue may be, getting in touch is an important step towards a better future.
I am a professional therapist with an approach which is Integrative in that I draw from various theories to suit my clients individual needs. By helping you to explore your life and the relationships within this, I can help you to gain understanding of how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours affect your life and relationships, holding you back. Together, working in a safe, confidential space we can work towards a better way of living.
I adhere to the professional and ethical code of practice of the International Council of Psychotherapists and offer both short and long term therapeutic weekly sessions. I offer online ( zoom etc) and email/text counselling only.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified, accredited, ethical counselling therapist with a Psychology degree as well as a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and an an accreditation member of National Council of Psychotherapists. I have worked as a counsellor within a local Counselling Service, a Young Persons Housing Charity as well as a refuge for victims of domestic violence. With over 20 years working in the public sector I have a wealth of personal and professional experience to draw upon.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
When a client contacts myself, we arrange a short initial meeting to assess whether we would like to work together. If we both feel we would, then we work out a mutually convenient day and time for our sessions together.
