BACP(Accred) Dip. Counselling Registered CBT Therapist

About me

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor and CBT Therapist offering a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to talk openly about the difficulties you may be facing.

Life can feel overwhelming when your mind is constantly overthinking, worrying, or expecting the worst. You may feel emotionally exhausted, stuck in self-doubt, isolated, or struggling to cope with anxiety, low mood, grief, trauma, or significant life changes. You may also find that past experiences continue to affect your relationships, confidence, emotional wellbeing, or ability to manage everyday challenges. I understand how difficult this can feel, both professionally and personally, and I believe therapy can help you gain clarity, understanding, and a greater sense of control.

My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to your individual needs. I integrate Person-Centred Counselling with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), drawing on my Certificate in CBT for Trauma to support clients who have experienced trauma and its lasting effects. I also incorporate elements of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), enabling me to tailor therapy to your individual needs while combining emotional support with practical, evidence-based strategies.

Using CBT, we can explore how your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and physical responses are interconnected, and how past experiences may continue to influence your life today. Through ACT, we can learn to respond differently to difficult thoughts and emotions while reconnecting with your values and what matters most. Drawing on CFT, we can develop self-compassion, reduce self-criticism, and build emotional resilience. Where appropriate, I also incorporate SFBT techniques to identify your strengths, build on existing resources, and focus on realistic, meaningful goals for change.

My work is informed by additional professional training in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), attachment theory, trauma, and perinatal loss. Together, we can explore how early life experiences and attachment styles may influence your emotional wellbeing, relationships, self-esteem, and coping strategies. By understanding these patterns, we can work towards developing healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

I also recognise that feelings of loneliness, social isolation, or disconnection can have a significant impact on emotional wellbeing. Whether these experiences stem from bereavement, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or other personal circumstances, therapy offers a safe and compassionate space to explore these feelings, strengthen your sense of self, and foster meaningful connection.

For clients whose faith or spirituality is an important part of their lives, I can also offer faith-based counselling where appropriate and requested. This approach respectfully integrates your beliefs and values into the therapeutic process while remaining grounded in evidence-based practice. Whether your faith is a source of comfort, a place of questioning, or something you wish to explore alongside your emotional wellbeing, therapy can provide a space where both your psychological and spiritual needs are acknowledged and respected.

Together, we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, building emotional resilience, healthier coping strategies, greater self-awareness, and lasting confidence in your ability to navigate life's challenges.

I work with adults from diverse backgrounds and support clients experiencing:

  • Anxiety and excessive worry
  • Depression and low mood
  • Low self-esteem and confidence
  • Trauma and complex trauma
  • Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
  • Attachment and relationship difficulties
  • Stress and emotional overwhelm
  • Loneliness and social isolation
  • Bereavement, grief, and loss
  • Miscarriage, infertility, pregnancy loss, infant loss, neonatal loss, stillbirth, and baby loss
  • Life transitions and personal challenges
  • Faith and spirituality-related concerns

Alongside my core qualifications, I have undertaken specialist training in miscarriage, infertility, pregnancy loss, infant loss, neonatal loss, stillbirth, baby loss, trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), attachment, and CBT for Trauma. This additional training enables me to provide compassionate, informed support to individuals and families navigating the complex emotional impact of loss, trauma, and early life experiences.

Above all, I aim to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, coping with grief, processing trauma, navigating fertility challenges, exploring the impact of childhood experiences, experiencing loneliness or isolation, seeking to integrate your faith into therapy, or feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns, therapy offers a safe space to make sense of your experiences, recognise your strengths, and move towards a life that feels more meaningful and aligned with your values. My hope is that you leave therapy with greater confidence, self-compassion, emotional resilience, and practical tools that continue to support your wellbeing long after our work together has ended.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
