About me

Life can present us with some difficult challenges sometimes ... feeling stuck, anxious, fearful or helpless, or maybe trying to cope with grief and loss, or losing our sense of self and not knowing who we are .... through the talking process, I will support you in developing an understanding of your emotional world, your behaviours and thinking. We will work together to help you gain insight and perspective and to access ways of strengthening your being so that you feel more able to cope with life’s challenges. I am here to support you and to help you decide the best way forward.

I work mainly face to face from a counselling room in Central Milton Keynes and I have limited online availability working on Zoom. I work with adults age18+.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training has been as an integrative counsellor which means I draw on a blend of different counselling approaches, tools and techniques. In this way, I can tailor the work we do together to your individual needs. The integrative model recognises that everyone is unique. The cornerstone of my integrative work is the person centred approach which means that I will encourage you to bring your own issues to our sessions enabling the work to be led by you.

The main areas of my experience are in trauma work, having worked in an agency supporting survivors of sexual assault and abuse, and in grief and loss work, with experience in a bereavement agency. I am also able to draw on experience in supporting people who are struggling with anxiety, anger issues, relationship difficulties, and workplace issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
