About me
Hello, I'm Lissa (she/her), a professional registered and accredited psychotherapist and counsellor providing a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment for short and long term one-to-one personal counselling tailored to your individual needs.
At the core of my offer is a person-centred approach, putting you at the centre. I recognise there is no one-size-fits-all solution to counselling, so I offer a variety of other types of therapy making sure how we work together is the most appropriate for your needs whether you are looking for support with your mental health, require specialist services around trauma or are in competitive sport.
I have experience of working with individuals who have experienced complex trauma, who as a result find life extremely difficult to cope with. I provide trauma therapy to help my clients work through their experiences, and help to deal with their past in a more manageable way.
With personal experience of competing at a high level in sport, I specialise in sports psychotherapy supporting individuals to understand themselves better enabling better performance or those facing a departure from sport whether forced or planned.

I have significant experience of working with individuals who have experienced trauma and complex trauma, who as a result may find life extremely difficult to cope with.
Having personally competed at some of the highest levels in sport, I am able to bring together these two worlds to offer specialist experience in sports performance. Sports psychotherapy is aimed at supporting sportspeople to be at peace with themselves, enabling them to perform better or manage the significant challenges that come with the end of a career in sport.
I have worked in the NHS and in private counselling agencies, providing a range of therapy services for many clients experiencing diverse problems.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations.
In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
