About me
Initially qualifying over twenty-one years ago with a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling, followed by a Level 3 Certificate in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). I have since worked with an enormous variety of people and numerous complex issues.
Contracted within local schools, I provide a service for all staff and students who range from 11 to 18 years of age and receive referrals from CAMHS (Child, Adolescent, Mental Health Services) and G.P. Surgeries.
I believe that the most important part of counselling is the relationship between myself and the client and offer them a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space in which they can unpack and explore the things that have brought them to counselling.
I am an Accredited and registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). And as such, abide by their Ethical Framework and Good Practice.
Additionally, I am an Advanced Practitioner and use Clinical EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) as well as a qualified practitioner of Matrix Reimprinting, which uses EFT at a much deeper level.
EFT is a relatively new therapy, and one that I am extremely passionate about due to the success rate my clients have achieved across a wide range of issues, such as anger, anxiety, compulsions, depression, exam stress, fears, grief, guilt, insomnia, headaches, low self-esteem, migraines, nightmares, panic attacks, pain management, performance anxiety, physical aches and pains, PTSD, resentment, sadness, shame and sexual abuse.
The amazing thing about the use of EFT is the amount of sessions clients need in order to resolve issues. “Peer Reviewed Medical Journals” on the effectiveness of EFT can be found at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed
Whilst a specific paper which presents data, supporting the fact, that even in severe PTSD cases 4 - 10 sessions are sufficient, can be found here... https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30545069

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
