About me
I am a BACP registered counsellor offering individual and couples counselling through High View Therapy, based in Chinley in the High Peak and online.
My approach is relational, integrative and grounded in Person-Centred Therapy and Psychosynthesis. I also have specialist training in EMDR and psychological trauma, which I can integrate into the work where appropriate.
I work with people experiencing anxiety, relationship difficulties, shame, overwhelm, loss of confidence, life transitions and a sense of feeling stuck or disconnected from themselves. Sometimes people come to therapy because something specific has happened; at other times there is simply a feeling that life or relationships are not working in the way they would like.
I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where we can make sense of what is happening, notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck and explore what you need in order to move forward.
My work is not only about understanding difficulties, but also about helping people feel more connected to themselves, their relationships and the parts of life that feel meaningful and alive.
I work both short and longer term, depending on what you need, and we can review together as the work develops.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Registered Member of BACP (MBACP) and hold a Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from The Manchester College.
I have also completed a Level 5 Post-Qualifying Certificate in Relational Counselling through Relate, alongside training in Psychosynthesis and specialist training in EMDR and psychological trauma through LSCCH.
My counselling experience includes private practice through High View Therapy, working with individuals and couples, as well as previous work with Relate and a drug and alcohol charity. These roles have given me experience of supporting people with anxiety, low confidence, relationship difficulties, trauma, addiction and difficult life circumstances.
I continue to undertake regular CPD and supervision. My additional training has included safeguarding, domestic abuse, suicide risk and support, mental health, attachment, trauma, dissociation, neurodiversity and creative approaches to counselling.
My practice is integrative, drawing primarily on Person-Centred, relational and Psychosynthesis approaches, with EMDR integrated where appropriate.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I know that starting counselling can feel like a big step, particularly if you are unsure what you need or find it difficult to put things into words.
You do not need to arrive with everything worked out. We can begin with what is happening for you now and make sense of things together, at a pace that feels manageable.
I am particularly interested in the ways anxiety, shame, relationships and past experiences can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves. My work is about helping people understand these patterns, feel more able to stay with themselves through difficult emotions and reconnect with the parts of life that feel meaningful.
I offer counselling in Chinley in the High Peak and online. I work with both individuals and couples and can offer short- or longer-term therapy depending on your needs.
If you are considering counselling, you are welcome to get in touch to ask any questions and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
