About me

Hello, thanks for stopping by.

I am qualified in Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I offer a warm empathic, non- judgemental approach where people can explore safely difficulties or life changes they may be struggling with.

These may include bereavement, depression, anxiety, stress, and those related to discrimination because of sexuality, gender, disability or illness.

Gestalt therapy is an approach I use as it fits my philosophy that people can heal and grow with learning to be self aware or mindful in the here and now. Thus we can stop automatic embedded patterns we acquire over time, if they are no longer helpful.

In these pandemic times, I offer online therapy sessions with video conferencing (Zoom). You can enquire by filling in my contact form just here.

A little about me (prounouns: she, her, hers)

Counselling is my second career.  I have a background in a health profession, and I am interested in the non-verbal (body) process. Growing up as a deafened child in a hearing family, I've learned to attune to facial and body gestures as part of my lip- reading as well as using my hearing aids.

What to expect in your first free introductory session ( 15 minutes video call )

This will be a no- obligatory call and the aim is to see if we are a potentially  good fit for each other in your counselling journey. I will ask what brings you to counselling and what you are hoping to get out of the process. For example, for someone who is having anxiety because of a toxic relationship at work may want to explore ways of calming themselves down so they can be assertive. I will also check in with you on whether the online channel is suitable for your needs and answer any questions you may have about the practicalities of counselling and to discuss whether the style of counselling I'm offering is suitable for you.

What to expect in your first session ( 50 minutes video call )

If we mutually agree that we could work together-( Remember counselling is a collaborative activity ), we  will agree on a regular slot on a  specific day and time for a certain number of weeks, either short term ( less than 8 weeks) or long term ( open ended but subject to review every 6 weeks). To make counselling feel safe and containing for you, we will discuss counselling boundaries, etiquette, confidentality, your desired outcomes, and any concerns you and I may have. The first session and the first few thereafter also includes a history taking and a discussion and an agreement on the process, tasks and goals of counselling.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
