About me

Hi, I'm Linda. Taking the first steps toward positive change can feel hard at times; Not knowing where to turn can leave you feeling anxious and alone. Climbing the mountain can feel like an impossible task. But, you've already found the courage and strength to start the process.

As a compassionate counsellor, I understand that anxiety weighs you down, and that life can be challenging. That challenge can profoundly impact your everyday life.  Feeling anxious can trigger many emotions. These emotions may cause feelings of guilt, anger, depression, hopelessness, and confusion. These emotions can have a huge impact on your self-esteem/confidence.

I understand because I too have overcome some difficult and painful obstacles along the way and knew my anxiety and self-esteem had been rocked at that time in my life.

Talking things through can help you find direction, with a renewed sense of clarity and where enjoying life becomes possible once more.

Being the author of your own story requires help at times, and sometimes we just need a co-author to guide us to the next chapter.

My role is to support you through the process of finding your direction in a non-judgmental way. I will listen to your story with warmth and understanding in a confidential calm space, and together we can discover new ways for you to manage your emotions with a clearer and more positive mindset.

Trusting someone new can feel frightening, but, together we can work on building a therapeutic relationship where you feel comfortable talking to me about what's happening at a pace that suits you. I understand trust takes time to build, and I will not press you to discuss anything that makes you feel uncomfortable or, that you feel is too painful to share.

I have a volunteering history in, Anxiety, Depression, Bereavement, and Abuse. Some of these charities I continue to work with and support. I have also worked for a crisis line offering one-off support in moments of crisis. I believe everyone deserves help and support when needed, and offering that support is so important for our well-being.

I work with stress, anxiety, abuse, trauma, depression, bereavement, helping people come to terms with loved one’s illnesses and terminal diagnoses, low self-esteem/self-confidence, and relationship difficulties. Or, if you just feel you need someone to talk to when things seem difficult to understand.

I offer one-hour face-to-face sessions at my practice in Medway, as well as one-hour online Zoom sessions. I also offer home visits if you are unable to access face-to-face or an online platform. (This would be dependent on location, distance, and needs).

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
