About me

My name is Linda C. Nordlund and I am an integrative counsellor; working with individuals and couples. 'Integrative' refers to the different therapeutic approaches I use in my work (eg. psychodynamic, person-centred, Gestalt, CBT).

Each client will have a different experience with me as no counselling journey is the same. I assess clients individually and our work together will be determined by your needs and personality.

Below is a brief description of the therapeutic sessions I offer. If you choose to contact me and you have not heard back from me within 48 hours of sent enquiry, can I please ask you to check your spam folder.

Individual counselling:

Some of you will approach counselling as a way of becoming unstuck from a continuous and repetitive loop that is detrimental for your wellbeing. Some may feel it is a last resort having reached a place of apathy towards life. Some again, will want to explore and understand themselves in context of who they are, why they think, feel and act in a certain way, and whom they want to become. Our initial assessment will be the starting point of your particular needs. This will be a journey where you choose direction and speed. I will walk with you until you are ready to explore what lies ahead of you without my support.

Couple therapy:

You might be couple who are struggling with your relationship, or who merely wants to explore ways of enhancing your relationship. You might be going through your first real hardships as a couple or you may feel that this is the last resort. You might seek counselling in desperation to save a relationship or because it was presented as an ultimatum. Regadless of your reason for seeking help; I'm happy to support you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been trained as an integrative counsellor through Level 2, 3 and 4 (the latter; Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling). Additionally I hold a BScHons degree in Psychology with Counselling. After a year working as a non-profit counsellor for the charity agency 'Ipsum' in Swindon, I now practice privately from my offices in Devizes, Wiltshire.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
