About me
I am a BACP Accredited counsellor, with 20 years of experience counselling clients in a variety of settings and organisations. I initially trained as a person-centred counsellor and these humanistic values still underpin how I work. I hold the belief that given the right conditions, we are all capable of creating more of what we want and becoming more of the person we want to be. I feel passionate about helping the clients I work with fulfil their potential and move towards a life that is aligned with their true desires.
Over the years my experience and training have led me to adopt a more integrative/pluralistic style of practice. This means I will work collaboratively with the client to decide on the method and tools that are best suited to their individual needs, along with the issues they present with.
For instance, some clients will want to work in-depth, this may involve working in a way that explores how issues from childhood impact the client's ability to function in the now. Other clients may want to focus more on a specific problem, such as difficulty in a relationship, not being able to succeed in certain areas of their lives, addiction or behavioural problems. Here the client might require a more planned, goal-oriented approach, or a mixture of both. Some clients may just want the space to grieve for a loved one, or to come to terms with a difficult life event.
I am also trained in couples counselling and can help couples who are experiencing issues in their relationship gain a deeper understanding of their problems. Giving them an opportunity to move towards more transparent open communication and the possibility of deeper intimacy in their relationship.
I am committed to offering the clients I work with a safe, confidential and warm space in which we can collectively work in pursuit of their well-being.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
