About me

Maybe you’ve always been the one others rely on – the strong one, the supportive friend, partner, parent, or colleague.

You spend so much time caring for others that your own needs often come last. Over time, you may have become so used to holding everything together that it feels difficult to slow down, switch off, ask for support, or give yourself the same compassion you so readily offer everyone else.

On the outside, you may look like you’re managing – showing up, getting things done, and keeping life moving. But underneath, you may feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from yourself.

Your mind may rarely switch off, with overthinking, self-criticism, and a pressure to keep going even when you’re struggling.

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

Hi, I’m Lily, a compassionate therapist with over 10 years’ experience supporting people with their mental health.

I specialise in supporting people who struggle with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and low self-worth. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling exhausted from holding everything together, caught in cycles of overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and self-doubt, while struggling to prioritise their own needs.

Therapy is a space where you don’t have to hold it all together. You don’t need the right words or a clear starting point. We can slow things down and gently explore what’s happening beneath the surface, helping you understand yourself more clearly and feel more like yourself again.

I can support you to:
• Understand and ease anxiety, overthinking, and emotional overwhelm
• Build self-worth and reduce self-criticism and self-doubt
• Explore people-pleasing, boundaries, and relationship patterns
• Recover from burnout and emotional exhaustion
• Reconnect with your needs and sense of self
• Find ways to feel calmer, more grounded, and able to switch off
• Work through guilt, grief, and life transitions

I offer a warm, relational and trauma-informed space where you can be yourself without judgement or pressure.

I work integratively, drawing from a range of therapeutic approaches to meet your individual needs and working at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I believe there are understandable reasons why you feel the way you do, especially if you’ve spent years coping or carrying things alone. Together, we can begin to make sense of these experiences, identify any unhelpful patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop a kinder relationship with yourself.

Over time, therapy can help you feel more grounded, more connected to yourself, and more able to respond to life with greater clarity and confidence.

If you’re thinking about starting therapy, I offer a free 20-minute phone call to explore whether working together feels like the right fit for you. I also offer an introductory first session for £20 so you can get a sense of how therapy feels.

I’d really value the opportunity to support you on your journey.

The integration of these approaches enables me to work holistically, focusing on you as a whole person rather than just the difficulties you are experiencing.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
