About me

I am warm and approachable, but also committed and thorough in my working style with clients. I deliver my best to help you feel better and find answers.  To make the client journey more comfortable, I place a huge emphasis on creating a safe, comfortable clinic space, and am known for bringing a healthy sprinkling of humour and straight talking to the proceedings.

I work in an integrative way, which means using both traditional talking therapies such as Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as somatic therapies such as attachment-focused EMDR to heal clients in a truly comprehensive way. This approach enables me to view clients as a ‘whole person’, recognising the interconnectedness of body, nervous system, emotions, and thoughts. This roots and branches approach leads clients to achieve real-life change that is lasting.

Attachment theory is a cornerstone of my work, and I know that understanding our family dynamics and earliest years is paramount to healing. In sessions, I build out an understanding of your childhood attachment style to better help you to tackle present day problems around anxiety, depression, self limiting beliefs, relationship stress, emotional distress, and dysregulation. I am culturally competent and trauma-informed in the truest sense. I have helped a hugely diverse range of clients in England, Singapore, Europe and the USA to feel better, teaching coping strategies to develop stronger relationships with self and other people.

I have worked extensively with adults and teens experiencing depression, anxiety, academic and work stress, friendship and relationship issues, adult ADHD, shame, low self-esteem, phobia, trauma, loss and major life transitions.  I truly enjoy working with childhood adversities, attachment disorders and women's various life transitions.

As an ex corporate marketer, I also work well with high functioning clients struggling with burnout, perfectionism, impostor syndrome and boundary setting.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
