About me
Welcome
If you're struggling with personal issues and need someone to talk to, I'm here to offer you a warm, safe, and confidential space where you can explore your life experiences without fear of judgment. Whether individual, couple or family counselling, I will listen with empathy, care, and understanding, and help you work through whatever challenges you're facing.
Life events can leave us feeling unlike ourselves, and seeking help can be overwhelming. As a qualified counsellor, I have experience supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and the unique experiences that come with neurodivergence. I understand how difficult it can be to feel stuck or unmotivated, and I’m here to offer you support, whether you’re navigating day-to-day difficulties or more deep-rooted concerns.
I work with adults, teenagers, couples, and families, offering support with any emotional or relational challenges they may be experiencing.
I currently work as a Specialist Mental Health Mentor with university students, as well as a private counsellor supporting adults, teens, couples, and families. This dual role allows me to draw on a broad range of experience, incorporating practical tools into the therapeutic space when appropiate.
How I Work
At the core of my practice is a Person-Centred approach, where you are in control of the direction and pace of the sessions. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can process your thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly.
While person-centred values guide my work, I also draw upon techniques from other modalities, particularly Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you explore and find more helpful ways to respond to difficult thoughts or feelings. In my work with couples and families, I integrate tools and ideas influenced by Imago Relationship Therapy to support communication and understanding within relationships.
Where appropriate, I may also draw on my mentoring experience to offer practical strategies or resources that align with your goals, always with your consent and collaboration.
First Steps
Starting counselling can feel daunting, which is why I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation. This is a chance for us to talk about what you’re hoping to gain from therapy, and for you to get a sense of whether you feel I’d be the right fit for you.
I offer both face-to-face and remote sessions, depending on your preference. My private practice is based at Tindal Square, in the heart of Chelmsford City Centre. It is an inviting, peaceful space designed for therapeutic work. For those who prefer the convenience or comfort of sessions from home, I also offer online and phone counselling, which many clients find just as effective and rewarding as in-person work.
I also offer walk and talk therapy where appropriate, providing clients with the opportunity to engage in therapy outdoors within a natural and relaxed environment as an alternative to traditional room-based sessions.

Experience
I have a broad and diverse background in the mental health field, with particular expertise in supporting neurodiverse individuals, relationship difficulties, LGBTQ+ challenges and those facing emotional or psychological challenges.
Currently, I serve as the Support Services Manager for the Non-Medical Help (NMH) team at my company. In this role, I oversee support provision for university students experiencing barriers related to mental health and/or neurodiversity. Alongside this, I work as a Specialist Mentor, delivering one-to-one sessions that combine elements of counselling and practical strategies to help students manage their mental health and overcome personal and academic challenges.
I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent individuals, particularly those with ADHD and autism, both in educational and therapeutic settings.
My counselling experience includes working with:
Helen Rollason Cancer Charity – providing emotional support to clients living with cancer, as well as to their family members. This involved offering a safe, non-judgmental space to explore feelings and experiences during a deeply challenging time.
Anglia Ruskin University – offering counselling support to students presenting with a wide range of mental health difficulties, including anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
