About us

The Sadie Centre offers counselling face-to-face, by telephone and online.  To access this, please call our Reception on 01462 678804 or send an email: counselling@sadiecentre.org.

The Sadie Centre (formerly known as The Letchworth Centre for Healthy Living) has been operating since 1984 and is one of the leading local centres for wellbeing in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.

Our counsellors are all highly qualified and experienced professionals with many years experience in talking therapies.  Affordable fees and a genuinely healing environment make the Centre a very special place.

If you find yourself having to cope with a problem that is too big to deal with on your own, counselling could help.  Why not get in touch?

Our counselling service offers a broad range of therapeutic approaches. Our team are qualified in CBT, couples therapy,  play and art therapy, psychodynamic, person centred, TA counselling approaches, and hypnotherapy.

Are you confused by all of the different counselling approaches? Do you need help but don't know which kind of therapy will work best for you? Please contact our Counselling Service Manager who will be able to help you identify the right counsellor for you.

We support people with many concerns including bereavement, eating disorders, self-harm, relationship issues, depression, anxiety as well as substance misuse, health, trauma and suicide.

Member organisations *

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
