About me

Hi,

I’m Lesley.

Welcome to a Safe Space for Overcoming Anxiety and Panic.

With over 20 years of experience in counselling and psychology, I specialise in helping people overcome anxiety and panic disorders, particularly teenagers and adults. My goal is to help you feel safe, calm, and in control of your emotions, so you can build healthier relationships, boost your confidence, and live the life you deserve.

What I Offer:

    •    A compassionate and professional approach, where I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship, mixed with a touch of humor, plays a huge role in effective therapy.
    •    Tailored techniques and interventions designed to help you manage and overcome anxiety, panic, and related mental health issues.
    •    Expertise in working with a wide range of issues, including ADHD-related anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, relationship issues, and stress.
    •    For families, I provide support and guidance on how to navigate anxiety challenges together.

I understand that reaching out for help is a big step, which is why I offer a free, no-obligation phone consultation to ensure we’re the right fit for each other. From there, we’ll work together, at your pace, to find the best approach for your needs.

As a registered psychotherapist, I’ve worked across NHS, private practice, and charity sectors, providing psychological support and therapy to individuals from all walks of life. I also offer supervision for healthcare professionals and love working with fellow therapists.

If you’re looking for effective ways to manage anxiety or need support for someone close to you, please feel free to contact me. Together, we can create a path toward lasting change and peace.

  • Most recently I founded The Counselling Lounge, where I am currently based.

I have been working in psychology for 20 years.

Currently, I work in the NHS and also in private practice.

As my private practice has expanded, I have now developed online self-help courses devoted to mental health.

Over the years I have become well known for the work I do with anxiety and I think my simple language suits most.

I regularly contribute with other experts in the field to deliver information guidance and insight about mental health to magazines and newspapers.

My work with teens -

Over the years I found that a rigid set of lessons often doesn’t work well with teenagers, because they suffer from a variety of challenges and struggles: Exam anxiety; some have problems with anger or attending school; some have mental health issues, for this reason, I have created a model that is flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of all young people.

You can find out more about this cutting edge model step by step guide for anxiety on my website.

Walk and Talk

Walk and Talk Therapy starts with a one to one at the Counselling Lounge, but rather than sitting inside we head to the forest, ( which is located at the bottom of the garden). And we walk and Talk, exploring problems in a natural environment. Walking leisurely with a therapist can encourage a deeper understanding of issues through exploration and freedom. Forest bathing or walking surrounded by trees helps stress; anxiety; improves sleep and improves focus.

For more information, please feel free to give me a call.

I have helped many people over the years. I could help you too. Visit the other pages of my website to learn more about my services.

Further information

The Quick Fix Course: A series of self-help online course’s for anxiety and panic attacks.

If we are to fully recover from anxiety, I do believe knowledge and understanding of its origins and processes is necessary.

BUT what most of my young clients want more than anything is a QUICK FIX for their problems. Simple but clever techniques that are easy to administer to help break the nasty cycles of anxiety, panic and their close relations avoidance and safety behaviours. This IS possible and here I show you how.

This is a really fun, practical, yet professional course that will help you break these cycles. The exercises will help you build trust and confidence as we go on to studying the issues, giving you a deeper understanding of the issues you face.

Utilising techniques derived from CBT and Mindfulness, the Bored Teen introduces my three ‘Quick Fixes’ that helped him transform his life from one of avoidance and running away to embracing and flourishing in his work, studies, family life and relationships.

The course comprises animations and PDFs both containing lots of practical exercises for you to get involved with as well as a dedicated email service to keep you on track. Please email me if you would like more information.

I believe having a good therapeutic relationship, compassion and humour, are very important in therapy. If you would like to book an appointment, I am happy to have a chat on the phone to make sure that I can help and that I am the right person for you.
