About me

I am a fully qualified MBACP registered counsellor, based in Stockport town centre.

I understand how difficult it can be to make that first call to a counsellor, but sometimes taking the first tentative step can be your first positive step towards change.

It could be you are feeling disconnected from life, this can present in various ways, such as feeling overwhelmed, numb, stressed or anxious, when this happens it is natural to try to untangle the thoughts or reason with yourself, searching for an explanation as to why you feel this way, it can become an unhelpful cycle, the answers you are looking for feel just out of reach.

Talking to a counsellor, somebody who wants to understand you, who will listen without judgement or pressure can offer a new alternative perspective, this can allow you to view your life, your history and your relationships through a different lens.

As an integrative therapist with person centred theory at the heart of my practice I am empathic, honest and non-judgemental. My sessions are client led meaning we work together at your pace and direction. Working in collaboration builds strength in the relationship between the counsellor and client, this can be the key to growth, insight and change, I offer you the space to be yourself without the restrictions you may feel within your own life.

I work with clients of all ages and backgrounds, offering guidance and support for diverse personal, emotional and mental health concerns. Beyond supporting your mental health I believe counselling offers valuable benefits to anyone seeking greater self awareness and personal growth.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
