About me

My name is Lauren and I am a BACP accredited therapist in private practice, specialising in burnout recovery for millennial women — particularly those who have spent their lives being "the good one." I hold an MA in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT, and I am fully trained in EMDR (Parts 1-4).

I work with clients experiencing a wide range of difficulties including burnout, people-pleasing, perfectionism, chronic self-doubt, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, eldest daughter syndrome, boundary struggles, trauma, emotional neglect, relationship issues, and breaking generational cycles of over-functioning. Many of her clients share a common thread — a nervous system that has been in survival mode for so long that rest itself feels uncomfortable or even dangerous.

I offer online therapy, giving clients the flexibility to attend from wherever they feel most comfortable and safe. My approach is integrative and multi-modal, tailoring therapy to each individual using CBT, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic work, nervous system regulation, compassion-focused therapy, and a range of other evidence-based approaches.

My philosophy is that each client is unique and therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and down-to-earth. Some clients benefit from goal-setting and tracking progress, while others prefer a more fluid, reflective space — the pace and direction are always led by the client.

I focus on two things — helping clients manage present symptoms to get their life back, and when ready, safely exploring the root causes beneath those symptoms, often rooted in years of being the "good girl", the eldest daughter, or the one who carried everyone else's emotional load.

I have extensive experience across educational settings, charitable organisations, councils, and private practice. I also lead a team of associate therapists, provide clinical supervision, and I registered with AXA, Aviva, BUPA, and Vitality.

New clients are invited to book a free 20-minute consultation call, with a therapy contract completed before the first session.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
