About me
Hello, I'm Lauren. I offer Counselling and Supervision in a warm, sunny room in East Brighton, on Zoom or by phone.
Seeking therapy is an act of self-care.
There are times in life when however capable we normally are, we find ourselves less able to cope with situations and relationships. I imagine you are here looking for support for some of life’s challenges: You may be:
Impacted by a sudden event such as bereavement or redundancy.
Longing for more connection, better communication with family, fulfilment or excitement.
Wanting to explore long term issues such as trauma, body image, addiction, lack of self -confidence or anger issues.
Feeling uncertain about, intimacy, gender, sexuality, a relationship or menopause.
I support individuals to tell their stories and explore patterns through inner-parts work, somatic release, ritual and ceremony and creative process.
With compassion and care, I support healing the parts that hold you back and trouble you, so a new loving relationship to yourself and others can develop. Therapy supports you to let go of survival patterns held in the mind and body and move towards thriving, empowerment and aliveness. I like to include the spirit and soul as well as exploring the mental, emotional and physical if this speaks to you.
The relationship between counsellor and client is important. An initial session will help you to get a sense of how it feels to talk to me and share your story, needs and hopes. If you are new to counselling we can also discuss any apprehensions about the process, as with all new things it may feel daunting.
I am an open-minded, compassionate counsellor and enjoy supporting people with life’s challenges. I’ve worked in many settings including private practice, hospice, mediation, young adults and within schools.
I tailor my therapeutic process to your needs and preferences and believe in working collaboratively with clients to grow self-awareness and empowerment.
Please do get in touch via email or telephone today for support and a positive outcome.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
What to expect in the first session
During an initial session, I would like to hear as much as you feel able to share about your reasons for seeking counselling. I would encourage you to go at your own pace and to feel comfortable.
My role is to understand where you are coming from and how we could best work together and what you would like to gain from counselling.
If you feel after the initial session that you would like to try counselling we will agree a regular day and time. Sessions can be weekly or fortnightly depending on what feels right for you. If you feel counselling is not for you, there is no obligation to continue.
