About me
If you have experienced sexual violence, abuse, or other traumatic experiences, you may be living with the lasting emotional impact in ways that affect your sense of safety, relationships, and how you feel within yourself. Therapy can offer a steady, supportive space to begin making sense of these experiences at a pace that feels manageable for you.
I am a qualified counsellor working in a pluralistic and trauma-informed way. This means I tailor therapy to each person rather than using one fixed model, drawing on different approaches depending on what is most helpful at the time.
My core training is in person-centred counselling, alongside elements of psychodynamic thinking, allowing us to work both with present-day difficulties and the deeper impact of past experiences.
I specialise in working with survivors of sexual violence and sexual trauma. My focus is on creating a grounded and consistent therapeutic relationship where you remain in control of what you share and when. I work in a paced way, with careful attention to stability, safety, and choice.
Many of the clients I work with experience:
- The impact of sexual violence and sexual trauma
- Trauma-related distress and PTSD-type symptoms
- Anxiety and emotional overwhelm
- Low mood and depression
- Difficulties with trust and relationships
- Low self-esteem and shame
Alongside this specialist trauma work, I also support clients in building emotional stability, safety, and a greater sense of control as they begin to process and understand their experiences.
Therapy offers a calm and supportive space where you can speak at your own pace, without pressure to disclose anything before you feel ready.
Work may involve building stability and grounding, exploring the impact of trauma on your present life, or gently processing difficult experiences when and if you feel ready. We will always move at a pace that feels manageable for you.
I see therapy as a collaborative process, where your boundaries, autonomy, and sense of control are central.
EMDR training and trauma work
I am currently undertaking EMDR training, having completed Parts 1 and 2, with Part 3 scheduled for July. I am beginning to integrate EMDR-informed understanding and techniques within my wider therapeutic work where appropriate, and I am working towards EMDR Europe practitioner accreditation.
This reflects my ongoing commitment to deepening my trauma-informed practice and supporting clients whose present difficulties may be linked to past experiences.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
