About me

We all struggle sometimes.  If you are experiencing difficulties which you feel unable to solve on your own, then counselling and psychotherapy can help.

Some of us may be able to point to a specific experience or trauma in our past, or to a more recent change in circumstances as the cause. Others may not be aware of a specific issue but may be experiencing uncomfortable feelings such as stress, anxiety, depression or anger; racing thoughts; low confidence and self-esteem; insomnia; or difficulties in relationships.

Perhaps you identify as Autistic, ADHD or another neurotype. Heightened sensory awareness and living in a predominantly neurotypical world can lead to cycles of overwhelm and burnout.  Maybe you’re not sure who the real ‘You’ is underneath the layers of coping strategies.

Whether you are neurotypical or another neurotype, I offer you time and space to start making sense of your unique situation.  We will work together at a pace that suits you to understand why things are the way they are and what changes you would like to make.

Most of us have things in our lives that are working well and things we would like to change.  Together, we can identify the parts you’d like to keep and the parts you’d like to be different and start to make positive changes in your life and in your relationships.

Some people come to therapy with a clear outcome in mind, while others don’t know where to start – and both are OK.  For many, the starting point is simply "I want to feel better".

Therapy is about you becoming more fully yourself, rather than trying to make yourself into someone you are not, or someone you think you should be.

A good client-therapist relationship is key to the success of your therapy.  I offer a free initial telephone or Zoom call so that we can get to know each other and you can ask any questions you may have.  You are welcome to reach out to arrange an initial call.
