About me

Struggling to cope? Anxious? Depressed? Feeling like you need change but need support? I can help you find calm and regain control.

If you are ready to take the first step towards a happier, healthier you, I am here to help. We don't question going to the doctor for physical health so allow yourself to get professional support with your mental health.

I provide quality, professional, psycho-therapeutic counselling. It is compassionate, tailored to your unique needs and focused on helping you achieve meaningful change, personal growth and most of all… hope. Sometimes we need someone to be there for us. Life can be tough and even tougher alone. I offer a space for you to focus on what is happening for YOU.

Having worked in education for 18 years, I have extensive experience working with diverse groups, as a qualified SENDCO, Emotion Coach and NHS National Autism Practitioner Trainer I have an in-depth understanding how everyone is an individual and my counselling approach reflects this. I am also an accredited practitioner with the Foundation for Infant Loss.

I am here to help you with a variety of issues:

  • Notice, understand and control anxiety to manage symptoms and reduce distress.
  • Improve your low or depressive moods to improve your quality of life.
  • Support you in overcoming guilt, shame, grief, and loss to enable you to move forward.
  • Help you foster healthier relationships to lead a happier, secure, more content lifestyle.
  • Manage stress effectively to reduce overwhelm
  • Process and live more comfortably with trauma
  • Boost your self esteem so you can live a more confident life with less imposter syndrome or self hatred and develop a more positive self concept to live a life where you value yourself and your decisions.
  • Help you explore and understand your identity so you feel like you 'fit.'
  • Help you to understand neurodivergence such as -ADHD/ Autism/ Dyslexia/ Dyspraxia (DCD); build self awareness, self esteem, coping techniques and emotional regulation. Understand how to remove the mask and be 'you.'

My specialist area is supporting people with all elements of parenthood

I have a particular passion in supporting all things to do with parenting. From pregnancy issues and birth trauma to issues such as, working through your own childhood trauma. Having experienced personal traumas as a parent and had life changing therapy, I understand the power and hope counselling can give you and the impact this can have on your whole family. If young people are to thrive their parents must too. Parenting can feel impossible at times and as the most influential person in your child’s life YOU matter too.

Examples of specialist issues I can support:

  • Birth Trauma or babies being born ill or premature
  • Loss and grief specialising in baby loss and support before, during and after subsequent pregnancies.
  • Supporting issues associated with neurodivergence or diagnoses (especially ADHD, Autism, dyslexia or dyspraxia).
  • Identity including struggling to adapt to being a mum or dad.
  • Family and relationship breakdown conflict or difficulties.
  • Understanding the impacts of your childhood on your parenting.
  • Understanding and processing childhood bereavement.

I offer online or face to face counselling at my calming space in Moulton, Northampton and a free 20 minutes no obligation call to discuss your needs and how I can help.
