About me

I offer a non-judgmental, accepting, confidential environment where you the client can share your thoughts and feelings. I work with adults, adolescents, children, parents and children together. My space is warm, and welcoming. Using a holistic approach we can work together on whatever you need. I have a wealth of experience.

Are you feeling anxious, depressed, sad, alone, having panic attacks. Are you worried about a loved one. Do you feel as if you aren't sure where to turn to for help. I'm here to listen and support you on your journey.

Using verbal and non-verbal techniques I can tailor the counselling specifically to the individual and to their unique needs through the therapeutic process.

Counselling is not about instruction or advice giving, I do not know you best and I will not tell you what to do. We will form a 'bespoke' relationship, which allows us to work together with respect to support you through the process of change you are looking for.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I can work virtually and face to face. I have adapted my space to support covid health regulations. I am offering some face to face for children, and virtual  for all others with the current pandemic.

For Children's therapy i have separate sand trays and toy boxes for each child. The Therapy Shed has it's own entrance and exit, hand sanitiser and a warm, caring counsellor to support my clients.

Virtual counselling is highly successful and enables you to be in your own space and comfort. This can seem off putting for some, please contact me to discuss if you are unsure.

I work with couples, individuals, is your relationship not what it once was, are you feeling anxious or depressed? Is the pandemic leaving you feeling isolated or unheard.  Do you feel you are using measures you aren't comfortable to relieve your stress or form some normality?

I've worked extensively with people managing or struggling to manage their drugs and or alcohol consumption.

I have extensive experience working with children and young people. I also offer relationship counselling, and family therapy.

Adolescent issues such as peer pressure, parental difficulties, risky behaviour, promiscuity, attachment issues and self image, anger, self harm, self-esteem and confidence issues. Parents struggling to understand their children and how to cope with those difficult adolescent years.

I have worked in schools for many years with children that are permanently excluded from mainstream school, or those at risk. I have been the safeguarding lead working closely with many agencies and social services.

Have you been bereaved, is the grief consuming you? maybe it feels as if you 'should' feel better.  Reach out I've worked with children and adults to support them through their loss.
