About me
Welcome. I’m Laura, a qualified Humanistic person-centred counsellor who works with individuals aged 11 to 111. You are in the driving seat of our sessions, going in the direction you want, at the speed you feel comfortable with. I bring my authentic self to sessions and don’t hide behind any blank, clinical mask. You can expect real conversation, genuine warmth and interest, humour when appropriate and zero judgement. I don’t just sit back. I listen deeply, reflect honestly and help you untangle your thoughts out loud, when you feel ready. The agenda is yours; you bring whatever is on your mind that session - the big stuff and the small; the anger, the tears, the humour, the confusion. All of you is welcome, just as you are.
My relational approach offers you a confidential, compassionate, non-judgemental space to freely explore your thoughts, feelings, experiences and challenges. I’m not going to tell you what to do or offer quick solutions. Instead, I consider you the expert in your own life, thus you decide the direction of our collaborative work. I will endeavour to enter your unique world with empathy, acceptance and genuine curiosity, helping you recognise your own strengths and inner resources whilst supporting you to process difficult emotions, rebuild confidence and move towards greater self-acceptance.
Sessions can be held in a dedicated therapy room in Salisbury, Andover or Eastleigh or outside in nature, walking and talking (and sitting!). Same depth of work, just side-by-side. Same grounding in theory and training, just outdoors. Still one-to-one. Still confidential. Online sessions are also available using Microsoft Teams.
The thought of starting counselling can feel daunting. You don’t need to have a clear idea about what to bring or where to start. We can figure that out together. What really matters is the therapeutic relationship we create. For this reason, I offer a free, 15-minute consultation, so please do phone or email to see if we may be a good fit.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
