About me

Life doesn’t always fall apart loudly.

Sometimes it looks like carrying on as normal while quietly feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, anxious, or disconnected from yourself.

You may be grieving the loss of someone you love.

You may be living with the emotional impact of a life-limiting diagnosis - your own or someone close to you.

Or perhaps life has changed in a way that’s hard to explain, and you no longer feel quite like yourself.

Grief, loss, trauma, and emotional overwhelm can affect every part of us - our thoughts, our relationships, our nervous system, and even our sense of identity.

I offer specialist counselling for grief, bereavement, life-limiting illness, and emotional wellbeing.

Therapy with me is warm, compassionate, and human.

I’m not here to offer clichés, quick fixes, or tell you how you “should” be feeling. Instead, I offer a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly, make sense of what you’re carrying, and feel less alone in the process.

Whether you are navigating bereavement, anticipatory grief, caregiver stress, trauma, anxiety, or emotional exhaustion, we work at your pace.

No pressure. No judgement. Just space to begin where you are.

Training, qualifications & experience

My work is grounded in both professional training and extensive experience supporting people through grief, loss, crisis, and emotional distress.

Alongside private practice, I have worked in specialist support settings including bereavement, hospice care, and crisis intervention.

I currently support individuals and families through my work with Treetops Hospice, working with those impacted by bereavement and life-limiting illness.

I have also worked as a bereavement volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Support, supporting individuals navigating grief and loss.

In addition, my crisis support work with Mind Derbyshire has provided significant experience supporting people experiencing acute emotional distress, anxiety, overwhelm, and mental health crisis.

I work integratively, drawing from counselling, psychotherapy, somatic approaches, and hypnotherapy to support each client as an individual.

Qualifications and training include:

  • Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (final year)
  • Qualified Hypnotherapist
  • Mental Health First Aid Training
  • Ongoing CPD in grief, trauma, bereavement, crisis support, and somatic approaches

Finding the right therapist matters.

A good therapeutic relationship can make all the difference, especially when you are carrying something painful, complex, or deeply personal.

I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting. You may feel unsure where to begin, worried about opening up, or wondering whether therapy is right for you at all.

That’s completely understandable.

You do not need to arrive with everything figured out or have the “right” words to explain what’s happening.

Therapy with me is not about getting everything perfect.

It’s about creating a space where you can be real.

A space where you feel heard, understood, and supported as you navigate life’s harder moments.

I offer sessions online and in person, and provide a free 15-minute introductory call so we can explore whether working together feels like the right fit.
