Lara Tucker Adv Dip Counselling, Accredited Registered MNCS
I am a deeply compassionate, understanding and professional therapist. A Registered Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society. I have many years experience of working with people with wide ranging difficulties, both as a Counsellor and in my previous long term career in the Police Service. I have particular experience and understanding of working with depression, anxiety, panic attacks and stress, low self esteem and confidence, workplace and relationship difficulties.
We all need or would benefit from counselling at various times in our lives, for many different reasons. Counselling enables us to be heard and valued, to work through the difficulties we are experiencing and helps us to find solutions and coping strategies. This enables us to live a more fulfilled and happier life, where we can begin to value and believe in ourselves and change the patterns we have become stuck in.
I offer a safe, supportive, respectful and non judgemental space for you to be able to explore your own experiences and difficulties. I have trained in a number of theoretical approaches including Person Centred, Gestalt and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), incorporating Mindfulness, nature and creative techniques to help you explore the struggles you are facing.
I work with anyone who is 18 or over, practicing in comfortable surroundings on the 2nd floor of 14 Castle Street in Central Exeter. In addition I also offer walk and talk therapy in a rural setting on the outskirts of Exeter. This can be of benefit to those who find it difficult to explore feelings and experiences in the confines of a therapy room or feel more comfortable out in the resources that nature provides, or you might like to gain confidence in venturing into the countryside for your own mental and physical wellbeing. I also offer Video Link and Phone call appointments.
