Lara Tucker Adv Dip Counselling, Accredited Registered MNCS
I am a deeply compassionate, understanding and professional therapist. A Registered Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society. I have many years experience of working with people with wide ranging difficulties, both as a counsellor and in my previous long term career in the Public Sector. I have particular experience and understanding of working with Depression, Anxiety and Stress, Low Self Esteem/Confidence, workplace and relationship difficulties.
We all need or would benefit from counselling at various times in our lives, for many different reasons. Counselling enables us to be heard and valued, to work through the difficulties we are experiencing and helps us to find solutions and coping strategies. This enables us to live a more fulfilled and happier life, where we can begin to value and believe in ourselves and change the patterns we have become stuck in.
I offer a safe, supportive, respectful and non judgemental space for you to be able to explore your own experiences and difficulties. I have trained in a number of theoretical approaches including Person Centred, Gestalt and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), incorporating Mindfulness, nature and creative techniques to help you explore the struggles you are facing.
I work with anyone who is 18 or over, practicing at STUDIO one therapy and wellbeing hub in Southernhay West, close to Princesshay in Exeter. In addition I also offer walk and talk therapy in a rural setting on the outskirts of Exeter. This can be of benefit to those of you who find it difficult to explore your feelings and experiences in the confines of a therapy room, out in the resources that nature provides, or you might like to gain confidence in venturing into the countryside for your own mental and physical wellbeing. I am presently offering Video Link and Phone call sessions during the current Corona Virus situation.

Other areas of counselling I deal with
I have many years experience of working with a wide range of people. I have particular understanding and experience of working with anxiety, stress and depression related issues, low self esteem/confidence, workplace difficulties and relationship struggles. This can be for many different reasons, as a result of traumatic events or experiences past or present, from unmet needs and confusion from childhood, from a build up of negative experiences which have left you feeling overwhelmed and struggling with the stresses and strains of modern day life. I can help you work through these difficulties and to find appropriate coping strategies to make positive changes to your life.
I welcome telephone enquiries, e mails and text messages, I understand how difficult it can be to find a Counsellor that is right for you and often a phone call or e mail can help you with that process.
For face to face sessions, video link or phone call sessions I offer either a free 30 minute initial consultation or a £20 initial introductory one hour appointment.
Thereafter my fees are £40 for hourly appointments.
I also offer a small number of concessionary spaces, for students and clients on low income, at £30 an hour, please ask about my availability. If you are experiencing financial hardship during the current Corona Virus please speak to me about what you are able to afford.
I offer long and short term therapy dependant on your needs. From experience weekly counselling sessions are very beneficial, however I understand that this is not always possible so we can work around your needs and requirements.
I work on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Exeter.
Due to the current Corona Virus pandemic I am unable to offer face to face sessions, I am able to do Video Link and Phone Call sessions which I am able to offer on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
