About me

Hi, I’m Laken - an online and in-person counsellor who believes therapy should feel human, not clinical. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, stuck in old patterns, or unsure where to start, you’re in the right place. I offer a relaxed, supportive space where you can talk openly, explore what’s going on beneath the surface, and begin making sense of things at your own pace.

My Style I’m real, honest, and collaborative. I won’t sit in silence or throw jargon at you - we’ll have genuine conversations that help you understand yourself better and move toward the life you want. I work in a way that honours your individuality, especially if you’re neurodivergent or exploring whether you might be.

Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, and easy to talk to. I offer a space where you can slow down, breathe, and be fully heard. My aim is to help you feel more connected to yourself, more confident in your choices, and more able to move forward with clarity.

  • Anxiety, overthinking, and stress
  • Low mood, depression, and self‑criticism
  • Neurodiversity - including ADHD, autism, AuDHD, sensory needs, masking, burnout, and identity exploration
  • Support for neurodivergent clients in both in‑person and online settings, including sensory‑friendly approaches and flexible communication styles
  • Domestic abuse and relationship‑based abuse - supporting individuals in recognising patterns, rebuilding safety, and processing the emotional impact
  • Abuse recovery - including emotional, psychological, and childhood abuse
  • Hoarding behaviours - understanding emotional attachment to belongings, overwhelm, shame, and the deeper experiences that sit beneath clutter
  • Couples counselling - communication, conflict patterns, rebuilding trust, and navigating relationship changes
  • Boundaries, relationships, and communication
  • Trauma, childhood experiences, and attachment patterns
  • Confidence, self‑esteem, and self‑acceptance
  • Emotional regulation and overwhelm
  • Navigating life transitions, identity, and feeling “stuck”
  • Adjusting to new environments - whether starting therapy in person, moving online, or blending both

I have a passion for neurodiversity and couples counselling.

Whether we meet in person or online, my aim is to create a space where you feel grounded, understood, and able to be yourself.

For in‑person sessions, I offer a calm, welcoming environment where you can step away from the noise of everyday life and focus entirely on you. Some people find the physical space helps them settle, regulate, and connect more deeply with the work we’re doing.

Online therapy offers the same level of support and depth, with the added flexibility of joining from wherever you feel most comfortable - your home, your car, or a quiet space that feels safe for you. It can be especially helpful if you’re neurodivergent, prefer low‑sensory environments, or find travel and new spaces overwhelming.

Whichever way we work, we’ll move at your pace. My role is to support you in exploring what’s going on beneath the surface, building insight, and making meaningful changes in a way that feels manageable and authentic to you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
