About me
Hi I’m Kim,
Thank you for reading my profile, it is a brave and courageous step to reach out for support. I am a warm and nurturing Counsellor, and my aim is to help you to get what you need from therapy. I am a fully qualified integrated, EMDR and BACP accredited therapist and clinical supervisor, able to offer counselling and supervision to trainee and qualified therapists. Being integrated means that I use a variety of different tools and modalities to fit your individual needs. I also have a vast experience working with adults and young people. If you feel like I might be a good fit for you, please feel free to contact me so that we can arrange a chat about what you might want support with.
Life can get on top of us sometimes, and before we know it, we are trying to keep our heads above water, not knowing when or if we will ever reach the shore. If this sounds familiar, I am here to offer a helping hand and show you that you are not on your own. I have first-hand experience of the challenges life can throw at us, and this led me to train as a trauma-informed Psychotherapist, to support people.
Sometimes you might feel lost, like you do not belong, or that something is missing but you aren’t sure what, together we can uncover your ‘why’. Therapy can help you by expanding your self-awareness, understanding how your past could be impacting your present and uncover roadblocks that are keeping you stuck. Do you ever feel like there is more to life than this, but something is holding you back? Therapy can help you to figure out the blockages and help you move forward in new and healthier ways so that you can live your life the way you want to live it.
I often work creatively and use images and use visuals in sessions to help you to make sense of what is going on for you. I also use analogies and metaphors regularly in therapy as they can really help to open up our thinking patterns and processes, helping you to look at things in different ways.
I have experience in working with childhood trauma and domestic abuse and therefore have great awareness of the impact traumatic experiences can have on us.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
I offer a free 15‑minute chat over Zoom or by phone - a gentle first step where you can get a feel for me, ask anything that’s on your mind, and share a little about what’s bringing you to therapy. There’s no pressure at all. If it feels like we’re a good fit, we can talk about what working together might look like from there.
Further information
I am also a qualified EMDR therapist. EMDR is a gentle, effective therapy that helps the brain heal from difficult experiences. Using guided eye movements or tapping, we work together to reduce the emotional intensity of painful memories so they no longer feel overwhelming. Many people find EMDR helps them feel calmer, more in control, and more connected to themselves.
EMDR supports you in moving past experiences that still affect how you feel today. By combining focused attention with gentle bilateral stimulation, EMDR allows the brain to reprocess memories safely and effectively. Clients often notice relief, clarity, and a renewed sense of strength as old patterns and triggers lose their grip.
