About me

Are you looking to find a counsellor that will understand and work with you from a culturally-sensitive perspective?

As a counsellor, my aim is to help you find a way to overcome your difficulties and to improve the quality of your life, in a confidential, safe and non-judgmental space.

About me

I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. I have worked therapeutically with adults and teenagers in a variety of settings including schools, agencies, community projects and in private practice. I have experience of working with a wide range of issues including but not limited to: abuse, bereavement, anxiety (including death anxiety), depression, divorce, identity, body dysmorphia, mental illness in the family, self esteem, self harm, trauma and culturally-related issues.

I am currently working online and on the telephone, making my practice accessible to clients all over the UK. I offer online and telephone session only. I work with adults of all ages and I welcome clients from all backgrounds.

I am an Accredited member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by their code of ethics. My practice is fully insured.

What to expect:

During the first session, we will establish what has brought you to counselling, and discuss how we can work together to achieve your goals from therapy.

You can choose to work in a brief, short term manner, or over a longer period of time. We can discuss this before we begin our work together. Regular reviews will be part of the therapeutic work to ensure that we are working towards your objectives.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
