I strongly believe in the client counsellor relationship and believe you the client can find your answer with some support and guidance. The Therapy room and relationship is one where clients can truly be safe to explore, be open, be heard, be seen and be accepted for who you are as an individual, from personal experience I feel it is for many the one place where they can truly explore what is going on for them and to truly discover their answer.
As a Registered member of the BACP (British association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) I work ethically and undertake regular supervision and adhere to good practice. Working ethically for me is a personal attribute and my care for my clients is very personal to me.
I recognise and well understand how difficult it can be to ask for help and support when things are difficult. When a client walks into the therapy room I understand what a big step this is. Whilst I take nothing for granted I feel that my natural warmth and empathic way of being contributes to the development of a healthy therapeutic relationship at a pace that is right for you the client. I offer you a partnership and will work in a way that you are comfortable with and with issues you wish to bring, Your personal Autonomy sits at the heart of my work.
What I work with and how I work with clients
By experience I have found that clients will sometimes be quite specific about what they want and other times they are searching for what is wrong. Firstly I am a strong believer in the development of trust between myself and my client . I strongly believe in the Here and Now whilst recognising that the past and worries about the future can impact on how we live in the present. I bring understanding of how our early development and through life experience can impact on how we respond to the present.
I believe my naturally warm and welcoming way of being helps my clients to relax, I have considerable resilience which allows me to be with clients when they share difficult.
What I hope to offer you the client
A safe and confidential place where you can be:-
Heard and seen for who you are.
I aspire to be non judgemental and will discuss any judgements that may arise during our work.
More than anything I offer my passion and strong believe that I can help.
