Hello and welcome to my profile. I am a qualified counsellor (Integrative) working in the
North Cornwall area (Primarily Wadebridge). I am a member of the BACP and have a passion
for the work I do with clients. I strongly believe in you the client being the centre of our
work together. I am compassionate and naturally empathic individual with an abilitly to truly
listen and connect with my clients in a way that is respectful and empowering for them.
Being non-judgemental for me is about beinig honest and congruent with my client.
My life history and experience has helped me to develop considerable resilience for working
with clients who bring challenging issues to me. I have a current criminal records check
and work in a way that provides a safe place for us to work together.
During my BA study an area of interest for me was the stigma and barriers to counselling
among individuals and certain groups.
When a client comes to counselling or returns after a period of time I recognise that they
may well have taken their first step to recovery and acknowledge and encourage them to
recognise this. You the client know yourself best and together I would hope to trigger
greater insight and understanding of yourself and your needs.
I believe my greatest strength is my ability to provide a safe relationship which is built on
trust and honesty and being real with clients.
I work ethically and adhere to the BACP ethical framework.
My personal values are however my greatest strength.
I attend regular clinical supervision which supports my therapeutic work.
I feel my training as an integrative counsellor brings considerable flexibility to my practice.
