About me
Face to Face Counselling in Southampton (SO16) and Fareham (PO16)
Welcome
If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in a racing mind that just goes round and round getting you nowhere, or perhaps trapped in a relationship stalemate or simply just feel broken, you’re not alone. You know that something has to change, but perhaps you don’t know what or where to start.
There is a way forward. By working face-to-face, we can begin to work through the present problems along with exploring what has happened in the past to find a way forward. Together, we can make real and lasting changes that will bring more clarity, calmness and a release from the present deadlock. You do not have to face this alone!
If you would like to find our more, please just give me a call, email or text for a free non-comittal conversation, after which you can decide in your own time if you think counselling would help.
What you can bring
People come for support with:
- Anxiety, stress, overthinking, just feeling stuck or feeling lost
- Relationship and family difficulties
- Issues rooted in past experiences
- Cultural or multicultural family challenges
- Issues around religion or spiritual abuse
- Life transitions, identity questions or confidence issues
You can talk freely here without pressure or judgement. Together we can make sense of what is going on inside you.
How We Work Together
I offer in-person counselling in Southampton and Fareham. The most effective work happens face-to-face in a safe, grounded environment.
In our sessions, we explore both:
- What is happening in your life right now
- How past experiences may still be shaping how you think, feel and relate today
Understanding these connections allows for deeper and lasting change, not just short-term coping strategies but a genuine shift in how you experience yourself and your life. Professional counselling will not attept to rewrite the past but it will change how it is affecting life now.
More about me
I am a qualified BACP-registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, working with adults (18+). My training involved three years of rigorous theoretical and clinical work through a BACP-approved organisation, and I work within the BACP Ethical Framework.
Having spent many years living in South East Asia, this experience has given me a deep appreciation of cultural identity, multicultural relationships, and the challenges of navigating life between different worlds. I also volunteer with several counselling charities and have worked with people on the margins of society.
I offer counselling in both English and Mandarin Chinese (普通話/國語).

Training, qualifications & experience
My training involved 3 years of rigorous theoretical and clinical work with a BACP approved training organisation. I am a fully registered member of the BACP (registration number: 410848) and work ethically in line with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I am particulary interested in helping those who may have experienced forms of spiritual abuse. A healthy spirituality can be a good foundation for healthy living. However conflicts can arise between religious teachings and what we experience indvidually inside ourselves. Working through these tensions can provide great relief.
