About me

I am qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT, BABCP accredited) and a HCPC registered Forensic Psychologist. I have completed a BSc Hons in Psychology and Criminology, MSc in Forensic Psychology, PGDip in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy and a PgD Practitioner Programme in Forensic Psychology.

I have over 12 years’ experience in the NHS, HMPS, private healthcare, community mental health and secure hospitals. I am a lecturer and supervisor at Hertfordshire University as well as working with mentally disordered offenders and running a successful private clinic.

I also offer supervision to trainee CBT therapists or CBT therapists with provisional or full accreditation. I am passionate about helping individuals to make changes in their life, so they are able to live the life they want or once lived. I wholeheartedly contribute to the movement of ending the stigma around mental health and making a positive difference in this world.

With CBT the goal is to change your response to problematic thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours. In doing so you will be able to work through your difficulties by using and developing your CBT skills so you become your own therapist.

These are some of the reasons you might choose to start individual therapy:
- Depression
- Low self-esteem
- Anxiety (e.g. social anxiety and general anxiety)
- Trauma
- Sexually Compulsive Behaviour
- Substance Misuse
- Addictive Behaviour
- Stress
- Relationship difficulties
- Panic Disorder
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Anger difficulties
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Bipolar
- Phobias
- Personality Disorder
- Pain Management

As well as individual therapy I work with couples, although many of the reasons couples choose to start therapy are similar to individuals there are a range of additional difficulties such as:
- Conflict and anger
- Lack of Trust
- Difficulties in communicating
- Anxiety for one or both individuals
- Life Stress
- Addiction
- Extra-marital relationships
- Where one or both feel depressed
- Commitment decisions

I offer therapy face to face in Upminster as well as online over video calls. So please feel free to contact me so we can discuss how I can help in rejuvenating you.
